We wanted to open up the rear of the house to the garden. AMB Joinery measured up, advised on the sill detail for a flat threshold, and manufactured bespoke inward-opening French doors in Accoya. They're draught-free, operate smoothly and look exactly right against the Victorian brickwork. Would recommend without reservation.

The staircase structure was fine but the original painted pine balustrade was loose, damaged and out of keeping with the rest of the house renovation. AMB Joinery replaced the spindles, newel posts and handrail with a contemporary oak and glass design. It's now the most commented-on feature in the house. Careful, tidy installation with no damage to the surrounding plasterwork.

Staircase and balustrade — Hackney

Our Victorian front door had been in poor condition for years — draughts, movement in the frame, a lock that stuck. AMB Joinery replaced it with a bespoke four-panel Accoya door that matches the street exactly. The fitting was immaculate and the whole project was done in a day. We've had three neighbours ask who did it.

Front door — Hammersmith

We had uPVC windows fitted by a previous owner in the 1990s. They looked wrong from the day we moved in. AMB Joinery replaced them with made-to-measure Accoya box sash windows with slim double glazing. The difference is extraordinary — both in how the house looks from the street and how much quieter and warmer it is inside. The whole process from survey to certificate was very well handled.

Sash window replacement — Wandsworth

We had eight sash windows that hadn't been properly maintained in over twenty years. Three broken cords, draughts throughout, rot on four of the lower sashes. AMB Joinery carried out a full assessment, explained exactly what was needed and why, and completed the work over four days. The windows now operate smoothly, there are no draughts, and — importantly — they look exactly as they should. We didn't want them replaced, and we didn't need to.
